Empathy Map

To ensure Mindmaze truly meets the needs of its users, I developed an empathy map to deeply understand their experiences, emotions, and challenges. This map highlights what users think, feel, say, and do, providing valuable insights into their needs and motivations. It served as a foundation for creating a user-centered design that aligns with their expectations and enhances their overall experience with the app.

Pain Points

1

Boring Daily Exercises

Repetitive and monotonous cognitive exercises make it hard to stay motivated, leading to skipped routines and feelings of stagnation.

2

Lack of Tools

Struggling to find tools or resources that are both engaging and easy to use for memory care.

Overwhelming interfaces and complicated technologies prevent patients from engaging in digital tools, increasing their sense of disconnection from society and family.

3

Anxiety and Depression

The fear of cognitive decline exacerbates anxiety and depression, negatively affecting emotional well-being and mental health.

Fear of the unknown, particularly how fast their condition may progress and what the future holds.

User Persona

To guide the development of Mindmaze, I created detailed user personas representing the app’s primary audience groups. These personas reflect the unique needs, goals, and challenges of the users, ensuring the design and features are tailored to provide maximum value. Each persona captures a blend of characteristics and scenarios that align with the app’s mission of supporting cognitive health in an accessible and engaging way. These user personas became essential tools for maintaining a user-focused approach throughout the design process.

Brainstorming

After analyzing the details and understanding the target audience's pain points, I began a thorough brainstorming process. This phase allowed me to explore creative solutions and generate ideas for features that address the unique challenges and needs of the users. By focusing on what matters most to the audience, I developed a list of possible features that could be incorporated into Mindmaze to enhance its functionality and user experience. This approach ensured that every feature was purposeful, relevant, and aligned with the app’s mission.
