Visual Concept

The key idea was to make sure seniors could use it easily and confidently, without any stress or confusion.

I wanted the app to feel like a trusted friend—simple, clear, and helpful.

  • Easy to Use, Right from the Start: Everything in the app is designed to be straightforward, so users can get what they need without feeling lost or overwhelmed.

  • Accessible for Everyone: I paid special attention to things like larger fonts, clear icons, and high-contrast colors to make sure it’s comfortable and easy on the eyes, no matter who’s using it.

  • Warm and Welcoming Look: The colors, shapes, and overall feel are soft and calming, designed to make users feel at ease and cared for.

At the heart of it all, the goal is to create an app that feels like a helping hand—empowering seniors to take charge of their cognitive health in a way that feels natural and approachable.

Colors

The colors for Mindmaze were inspired by nature, with calming blues and greens that feel soothing and familiar, like a walk through a forest or along the ocean. I added a touch of gold to bring some warmth and energy, giving the design a bit of life without being too much. Instead of using harsh black and white, I went for softer tones to make the app easier on the eyes and more comfortable to use, especially for seniors. It’s all about creating something that feels peaceful, approachable, and easy to navigate.

Typography

For the typography, I chose the Nunito font family—a clean and simple sans-serif font that’s easy to read and accessible for all users. The rounded corners of the letters perfectly align with the soft, friendly aesthetic of the logo and illustrations, creating a cohesive and approachable design. This choice ensures clarity while maintaining a warm and inviting feel, keeping everything in harmony with Mindmaze's overall visual identity.

Icons

The icons for Mindmaze are custom-designed to align with the app's logo and the maze-inspired concept. Each icon is crafted at a 24px size with a 1px stroke weight, ensuring a sleek and consistent appearance across the app.

Mascot

Meet the Mindmaze mascot—a friendly assistant designed to help users navigate the app with ease. When clicked on each page, the mascot describes features and provides a walkthrough of the application, making the experience more engaging and intuitive. I intentionally designed it without any specific race or gender, so everyone can feel a connection. Its cute and youthful appearance is meant to evoke the feeling of a helpful grandchild explaining things patiently and cheerfully. This personal touch adds warmth and relatability, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all users.
